I feel fortunate to have been able to make my offering as a psychotherapist for the past 24 years. I feel called to this work and fulfilled by it. I get a great sense of satisfaction and delight when my clients are able to identify what they need to accomplish in their therapy and then manifest the changes as they move forward in their lives. I think however, meaningful and lasting change is not easily accomplished. It takes commitment, hard work, and a willingness for a client to engage their depth process, or the root causes of their dysfunction, trauma, pain, or suffering. And then, with that gained, be able to create a healing outcome from this interaction, and further, be able to maintain and secure this growth and healing beyond therapy through time. I believe for a therapist to effectively facilitate a client’s depth therapeutic process they need to have experienced their own. They need to do their own inner work. My willingness to engage my inner process has proven to be a powerful and rich offering to my clients. Truly, if you want to go on safari into the jungle it’s important that you choose a guide who has his or her own experience of the jungle and has not just read about it in a guide book. The kind of therapy that was changing and healing for me directed me towards discovering my primal truths, my acceptance of what is, my compassion, and my open heart. From there I could heal, resolve, forgive and find the strength and spirit to transform that which had been in my life, into a holistically integrated way of living a better life. This same process is what I offer to my clients.
